Behind the name

Astig [AHHS-TIG] is a Tagalog word used to describe anything "cool" or "kick ass" & and derived from the word "Tigas" [TEE-GAS] which is a term used to describe the property of hard or toughness.

At Astig, our saying "Evolution through time" is a promise to our loyal and future customers to always bring you our best.

Our Story

“The idea of ‘AstigIndustries’ began when I became interested in starting my own Amazon store around the end of 2020. It was one of those “Oh, this YouTube video makes it look easy” moments, and quite frankly I thought it would be fun. Over four years, and MANY, many failures later have culminated into what you see before you. This “fun” project has turned into many head aches but also smiles and most importantly, an amazing purpose.”

 It’s far from over. In fact, we’re just getting started. 2024 will be the year that we bring out best foot foot forward and take AstigIndustries to a whole new level.

Our Beliefs

Our goal is simple. To provide you with the best gear possible and at the bring you more value for you money for the service and goods that you receive. Whether its through our own manufacturing, or our partners, we want to bring you the best equipment that is also affordable without any compromise.

The game is constantly undergoing a state of evolution. Different ways to play, different players, different playing fields, etc... In saying so, we believe that the best way to flow with this evolution is by following several design philosophies. They are "BEAUTY, PURPOSE, & MINIMALISM." That means that it has to not only look good, but we also want to make sure that every feature we add serves a purpose. We believe that the best way to achieve this is through minimalism. Things don’t always [or at all] need to be complicated. Often, simple is best. We apply these philosophies not only to the products that we make, but also to the ones we bring to you through our partners.

Made In Canada…?

This word is thrown around all the time. Made here, made there, designed here, designed there… All this really does is to trick your mind into making a patriotic decision of “I’ll buy here because I’m supporting my country." The truth is, this claim is often not completely true. Often times items are made overseas and are finished only in the destination country, allowing for the use of the “Made In” designation.  

So, what about us? We believe in transparency because it does not feel right to be fooled, nor to fool anyone through false claims. All of our “Made In Canada”labeled items are manufactured by us in house and import all of our materials (depending on the material) either from the U.S or China.

We also partner with other companies from all over the world who have similar vision to us in order to bring you products that we do not yet have the ability to manufacture. Items such as our flashlights, knives, EDC tools, etc… We do this in order to bring you more items that you surely will love. All of our partners are vetted very strongly and are often companies who have been in the game for a long time. For example, our partner SZFEIC is a Chinese company with 10 years of market experience specialized in providing lighting solutions to the domestic and international market. Prior to starting their private label brand in 2021, SZFEIC manufactured lighting solutions for other brands [also known as OEM / ODM manufacturing]. It’s these companies who share similar values such as fostering good relationships with customers and providing product solutions on par or exceeding the quality of existing products with the extra added benefit of affordability. It’s like when you buy 3^rd party parts for you car over the OEM version. Its built the same, performs the same, just without the price of the name brand stuff.
